I have an additional question about a young lady who is a current patient that suffered anoxia during surgery a couple years ago. Recently, in the last two weeks, her PT has been using tape to push her right shoulder down and back in an effort to make both shoulders the same height. She reports that the tape helps her sleep better at night, so she feels it is beneficial. When watching her walk when the tape is on, she hardly moves her right arm while the left arm has full motion. She seems to have restricted movement even though she does not feel this restriction. It seems to me that the tape is dampening my efforts when working on postural therapy. Do you think as well? Should I ask her to remove the tape while working on these therapies? Thank you for your time and consideration. We have been working hard to implement what we learned in San Antonio.
