NVPT provides a rehabilitative intervention for persons who have had a neurological event affecting vision and it’s function/process. The therapy is directed to affect spatial visual processing dysfunction and its relationship to the proprioceptive base of support (BOS). Following a neurological event the spatial visual process can become compromised which can lead to functional binocular vision difficulties as well as problems affecting balance and posture increasing risk of fall or affecting postural tone. The therapy works with the spatial visual process and the BOS to re-establish the integration of these processes. In turn, the integration of these processes rehabilitates the organization of the spatial visual process for preconscious organization of vision that affects higher order vision, executive processing, posture, balance and binocularity.
